JoJo Granatelli Sets New Red List Series 1/4-Mile Record with 7.06-Second Pass at 157 MPH — After Coasting the Back Half

McFarland, California — August 8, 2026 — JoJo Granatelli of Granatelli Motor Sports made history at The Red List Series XXXII, setting a new series quarter-mile record with an incredible 7.06-second pass at 157 MPH.

And the number on the timeslip only tells part of the story.

The Granatelli car was only run hard through the 1/8 mile before JoJo lifted and coasted through the remainder of the quarter mile—and still recorded a 7.06-second ET.

Held at Famoso Dragstrip in McFarland, California, The Red List Series brings together some of the West Coast's quickest street and race cars for heads-up drag racing competition. On August 8, Granatelli and the team arrived ready to see what the car was capable of—and walked away with a new series record.

7.06 @ 157 MPH — And We Lifted at the 1/8 Mile

Behind the wheel, JoJo Granatelli put together a record-setting run that immediately showed the potential of the car.

Rather than staying in it for the entire quarter mile, JoJo made the run through the 1/8 mile and then lifted, allowing the car to coast through the quarter-mile finish line.

The final result:

7.06 seconds at 157 MPH.

A new Red List Series record.

Even more importantly, it wasn't a full-power quarter-mile pass.

"We went out there to see what the car would do, and it definitely showed us," said JoJo Granatelli. "We only ran it through the eighth and then coasted the rest of the quarter, and it still went 7.06 at 157 MPH. Setting the record is awesome, but knowing there's still a lot left in the car makes us even more excited about what's coming next."

The achievement adds another chapter to the Granatelli family's long history in American motorsports.
