Collection: Performance Mass Airflow (MAF) Sensors

A MAF sensor (mass airflow sensor) measures the air going into your engine, and the ECU uses that reading to decide how much fuel to add. Granatelli Motor Sports builds performance aftermarket mass air flow sensors for Ford and GM: Coyote 5.0L and 4.6L/5.4L Ford, GM LS and LT, Camaro, Corvette and GM trucks and SUVs. The range includes slot-in sensors, complete housed sensors, a universal 95mm billet MAF housing and GM weld-on saddle kits for custom intakes. If you have added a bigger intake, a larger throttle body, a cam or boost, a performance MAF sensor keeps the airflow reading accurate so fueling stays right all the way to redline.

Choosing an Aftermarket Mass Air Flow Sensor

Start with the style your vehicle uses, then match the application. Ford mass air sensors cover the Coyote 5.0L and the 4.6L/5.4L, and GM mass air sensors cover LS and LT engines, Camaro, Corvette, Impala SS and GM trucks and SUVs. Many sensors come in two versions, such as 350300 and 350300-C, so check the exact part number listed for your vehicle.

  • Slot-in sensors drop into your existing intake tube or housing.
  • Housed sensors come as a complete assembly with the tube.
  • Weld-on saddle kits give a fabricated intake tube a proper sensor mount and include the 5-pin to slot-style jumper harness.

95mm Billet MAF Housing

Building a custom intake or running a supercharger? The Granatelli universal 95mm billet MAF housing (280099) is CNC-machined billet and works with 2005-and-later OEM slot or card style MAF sensors. It suits naturally aspirated, turbocharged and roots-style supercharged setups, supports blow-through and draw-through layouts, and is compatible with popular systems including TVS, Roush, Saleen and Magnacharger. The sensor is not included, and ECU tuning is required to calibrate the new housing.

MAF Sensor and Throttle Body Upgrades

A mass air flow sensor and throttle body are often upgraded together, because both sit in the path of every bit of air the engine breathes. If you are stepping up to a larger drive-by-wire throttle body, make sure the MAF side can read the extra airflow accurately, and plan the tune around both parts.

MAF Sensor FAQ

Do I need a performance MAF sensor?

If you have changed how much air the engine breathes, yes: a bigger intake, a larger throttle body, a cam or forced induction. On a stock engine that runs fine it will not add power, because nothing is restricting it.

Slot-in or housed: which one fits my car?

Slot-in sensors drop into your existing intake tube. Housed sensors come as a complete assembly with the tube. They are not interchangeable, so check which style your vehicle uses before you order.

What should I look for in a premium MAF sensor?

The right style for your intake (slot-in, housed or weld-on), a part number listed for your exact engine, and a plan for the tune if your airflow has changed. A sensor that matches your setup matters more than a brand name.

Can I use a MAF sensor on a custom intake?

Yes. The GM weld-on saddle kits give you a proper mounting spot in a fabricated tube and include the 5-pin to slot-style jumper harness, so the wiring matches. The universal 95mm billet housing works with 2005-and-later slot-style sensors.

Does the 95mm billet MAF housing include a sensor?

No. You supply a compatible 2005-and-later OEM slot-style sensor, and the housing requires ECU tuning.

My engine misfires. Is it the MAF sensor?

Usually not. Misfires come from ignition and fuel: coils, plugs, wires and injectors. Start with the ignition side.

Will I need a tune?

If the sensor or intake changes the airflow the ECU sees, the tune may need adjusting. It depends on your engine, sensor and intake. Call 1-805-486-6644, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm Pacific.
