Granatelli oval exhaust systems provide high-flow performance with a low-profile design that increases ground clearance, reduces scraping, and delivers a clean, aggressive exhaust tone—ideal for lowered vehicles, hot rods, and high-performance street or race builds.
3" Oval Stainless Steel Tubing for Low-Clearance Exhaust
Round 3" pipe hangs low on a lowered car, an air-ride build or a hot rod with a tight tunnel. Granatelli Motor Sports 3" oval stainless steel tubing keeps a 3-inch exhaust path in a flatter profile, roughly 2.2" x 3.45" outside, so the system tucks up and gains about three-quarters of an inch of ground clearance compared with round tubing, depending on the install. It is the oval tube stainless steel builders use when a full round system will not fit, and the parts are designed to work together as one family.

Planning a Stainless Steel Oval Exhaust
Horizontal bends turn the pipe side to side with the flat face down. Vertical bends step it up or down over a crossmember or axle. Mock up the full route with the car at ride height, mark each bend's orientation before tacking, and use a round-to-oval adapter wherever the system meets round headers, a round muffler or a cutout.
Oval Exhaust FAQ
How much ground clearance does 3" oval tubing gain?
About 0.75" compared with comparable 3" round tubing, depending on how it is installed.
What are the dimensions of the 3" oval tubing?
The profile is approximately 2.2" x 3.45" outside. The 313536 bend, for example, is 304 stainless, 16 gauge (.060") wall, with a 4.50" centerline radius.
Can I connect oval tubing to my round 3" exhaust?
Yes, with a round-to-oval adapter. Pick the weld-in, V-band or 3-bolt flange version that matches how you want the joint to come apart.
Can I run an exhaust cutout on an oval system?
Yes. Our 3" oval electric exhaust cutouts are built for it, in single and dual weld-in kits.
