More Airflow for Your GM LS or Dodge Gen III Hemi with a Granatelli Motor Sports Throttle Body

By Joey Granatelli1 min read

AutoCentric Media ran an official release on October 19, 2021 announcing Granatelli Motor Sports drive-by-wire throttle bodies for GM LS, GM LT and Dodge Gen III Hemi engines. The piece pitched the upgrade to owners of late-model GM and Dodge muscle cars, then covered what the throttle bodies are designed to do, how they install and which engines they fit.

Bigger Bore, More Air

According to the release, the aluminum throttle bodies are larger than stock and, by Granatelli Motor Sports' figures, flow up to 50% more air across the rev range. The goal is quicker, smoother acceleration.

Built to Hold Up Under Boost

The article explains that a special blade design and strong electric stepper motors keep the throttle blade from snapping shut under high boost. Granatelli Motor Sports rates the motors for up to 25 pounds of boost.

Installation Notes

  • They fit both factory and aftermarket intake manifolds.
  • Nothing needs to be moved over from the stock throttle body.
  • LS and LSX applications require a late-model GM six-pin connector.
  • A tune is strongly recommended for best performance and driveability.

  • 1997 to 2020 GM Gen III and Gen IV LS/LSX: 103mm (natural, polished, black anodized or blue anodized), 105mm (natural or black anodized), 108mm for the 2007 to 2017 6.2L (natural or black anodized) and 112mm (natural or black anodized)
