C5/C6 vs. C7 Corvette Bumper Saver: Which Granatelli Part Fits Your Car?

By Joey Granatelli1 min read

Compare Granatelli 350222 and 350223 Corvette Bumper Savers for C5, C6 and C7 models and see what each one is designed to protect.

Corvette generations share one common problem: the front of the car sits low enough that steep driveways, trailer ramps, speed bumps and parking transitions can damage the lower fascia.

Granatelli offers different Bumper Saver part numbers for C5/C6 and C7 applications because the underside and mounting geometry changed between generations.

1997–2013 C5 and C6: Granatelli 350222

Part number 350222 is designed for 1997–2013 Corvette applications, covering C5 and C6 generations. It is intended to help protect the lower bumper and air-dam area from scraping and contact.

2014–2019 C7: Granatelli 350223

Part number 350223 is designed for 2014–2019 C7 Corvettes, including Stingray, Z51, Grand Sport, Z06 and ZR1 applications listed by Granatelli. It focuses on protecting the low front fascia and splitter area.

Why the Parts Are Different

The chassis, belly-pan geometry, fascia and mounting points changed between Corvette generations. Using the correct part number ensures the protection hardware matches the intended mounting location.

What a Bumper Saver Can Help With

  • Steep driveway transitions
  • Trailer loading angles
  • Speed-bump contact
  • Low parking transitions
  • Minor scraping before painted surfaces take the hit

What It Does Not Replace

A bumper saver does not increase ride height, replace careful driving or act as a tow hook. It also cannot prevent every type of impact. It is a sacrificial/protective component intended to help reduce damage in common low-clearance situations.

Verify Your Model Year Before Ordering

A 2013 Corvette uses the C5/C6 350222 application range, while a 2014 Corvette moves to the C7-specific 350223. Confirm the model year and any aftermarket front-aero changes before installation.

The Bottom Line

Use 350222 for the listed 1997–2013 C5/C6 range and 350223 for listed 2014–2019 C7 applications.

For lowered or aero-equipped Corvettes, combine the correct bumper saver with careful driveway and trailer approach angles.
