Collection: Stainless Steel Electric Exhaust Cutouts
An electric exhaust cutout lets you open your exhaust at the push of a button: open for full sound and flow, closed for quiet cruising. Granatelli Motor Sports stainless steel electronic exhaust cutouts come in 2.25", 2.50", 3.00", 3.50" and 4.00" sizes, in slip-fit kits that clamp over the pipe and weld-in kits for a permanent install, as single or dual setups. Popular kits include the 302530 3.00" and 302525 2.50" slip-fit cutouts and the 302525K dual 2.50" kit. Stainless resists corrosion and heat, so it is the one to choose for a daily driver or anywhere it rains or snows.
What Is the Best Electric Exhaust Cutout?
The best electric exhaust cutout is the one that matches your pipe size, holds up where you drive, and opens and closes every time you hit the button. Granatelli Motor Sports electric cutouts use a CNC-machined 6061 aluminum body with stainless steel butterfly plates, a sealed high-torque motor with Smart-Chip auto-stop control, and a turndown that rotates 360° on a V-band clamp so you can aim the exhaust where you want it. Made in the USA and supported from Oxnard, California.
Which Granatelli Cutout Fits Your Build?
- Stainless slip-fit (302522, 302525, 302530, 302535): clamps over the pipe with no welding and can come off later. The pick for a daily driver or a car that sees rain or salt.
- Stainless weld-in (307522, 307525, 307530): welded into the pipe for a clean, permanent install with no clamp to leak.
- Dual kits (302522D, 302525K, 302530K, 307522D, 307525K, 307530K): one cutout per side for true dual exhaust. Run them with the 303510R-D dual remote.
- Vacuum/pressure-controlled (309530): a wireless remote controls a vacuum box. The kit brings its own vacuum pump, so no engine vacuum is needed.
- Oval (313530D): sits flatter than a round cutout for more ground clearance on lowered cars.
Install tip: mount the cutout at least 18 to 24 inches after the catalytic converter.
Electric Exhaust Cutout FAQ
What size exhaust cutout do I need?
Match the cutout to the outside diameter of your exhaust pipe. A 3" pipe takes a 3" cutout. Measure the pipe itself, not a tip or muffler inlet, and measure both sides on a dual system.
Slip-fit or weld-in?
Slip-fit clamps over the pipe with no welding and can be removed later. Weld-in is welded into the pipe for a cleaner, permanent install with no clamp to leak. Choose based on who is doing the install and whether you may want to go back to stock.
Stainless or mild steel?
Stainless costs more and lasts longer, especially on cars that see rain, salt or winter roads. Mild steel is the value choice for dry-climate or trailered cars.
Will a cutout add horsepower?
Only if your exhaust was a restriction to begin with. On a free-flowing system it mostly changes the sound. On restrictive or forced-induction setups the gain can be real. A cutout bigger than your pipe does not help.
Can I control it with a remote?
Yes. Granatelli wireless remotes come in two versions that are not interchangeable: 303510R for a single cutout and 303510R-D for a dual setup.
What warranty comes with electric cutouts?
Electric exhaust cutouts carry a 90-day warranty. You can add an extended 1, 2 or 3 year warranty when you buy.
Where should I install an exhaust cutout?
At least 18 to 24 inches after the catalytic converter, on a straight section of pipe that matches the cutout size.
Electric, vacuum-controlled or manual: what's the difference?
Electric cutouts open and close with a motor at the push of a button. Vacuum/pressure-controlled kits use a wireless remote that runs a vacuum box, and the kit includes its own vacuum pump, lines and fittings, so you do not need engine vacuum. Manual kits come with a block-off plate only: no motor, no wiring and no vacuum pump. A manual kit can be upgraded to electric later.
Do I need a dual kit for dual exhaust?
Yes, if you want both sides to open. Dual kits include a cutout for each side, and the 303510R-D remote controls a dual setup. The single remote (303510R) will not run a dual kit.
Are Granatelli exhaust cutouts made in the USA?

Are exhaust cutouts street legal?
Exhaust noise and modification rules vary by state and city. Check your local laws before driving with the cutout open.
