Carburetor Air Filter Spacer: When You Need One

An air cleaner spacer, also called a carb air cleaner spacer or riser, lifts the air filter assembly off the carburetor. Builders add one when the air cleaner base is too close to the choke, throttle linkage, fuel lines or other hardware on top of the carb. Remember that raising the air cleaner also raises the lid, so check hood clearance before you go taller.

What is the spacer made of?
