JoJo Granatelli Sets the Red List Series Quarter-Mile Record: 7.06 Seconds at 157 MPH
JoJo Granatelli of Granatelli Motor Sports reset the Red List Series quarter-mile record twice in one day at Famoso Dragstrip, running 7.21 and then 7.06 seconds at 157 mph, on a pass where he lifted at the eighth-mile.
JoJo Granatelli of Granatelli Motor Sports set the Red List Series quarter-mile record twice in one day, first with a 7.21-second pass and then, one round later, with a 7.06 at 157 mph. He did it at The Red List Series XXXII at Famoso Dragstrip on August 8, 2026, driving the Granatelli Motor Sports / In The Garage Media Pontiac Grand Am-bodied 2024 drag car.
The run was featured this week in Modern Rodding's Rodding Around news column from In The Garage Media.

Two Records in Back-to-Back Rounds
The Red List Series brings some of the West Coast's quickest street and race cars together for heads-up drag racing. At Series XXXII, JoJo put the Granatelli Motor Sports / In The Garage Media car into the record book with a 7.21-second quarter-mile.
That record did not last long. In the very next round he broke it himself, stopping the clocks at 7.06 seconds at 157 mph.
The Part the Timeslip Does Not Show
The 7.06 was not a full quarter-mile pass.
The plan that day was an eighth-mile run. JoJo lifted at the eighth and let the car coast through the rest of the track, and it still crossed the quarter-mile stripe with a record-setting number.
"We only ran it through the eighth, then coasted the rest of the way."
JoJo Granatelli, speaking to In The Garage Media
JoJo told the magazine the team went out to learn what the car could do, and that knowing there is a lot left in it has everyone more excited about what comes next.
What Happens When He Stays In It?
That is the question the run leaves open. A series record set while coasting the back half of the track says the car has more in it, and the next step is a pass with JoJo on the throttle all the way to the finish line.
We will post the result here when it happens.
